6/15/25 - Jesus is the Bread Who Satisfies
The last time I was here we were looking at Jesus setting a man free from a demon named legion. Jesus left this man sitting, clothed and in his right mind, to share with all his friends what the Lord had done and the mercy he had shown him. Jesus gets back in the boat after the people beg him to leave. Jesus and the disciples go to the other side, where he is not met with a man possessed by a demon but by a ruler of a synagogue whose daughter is sick. As he is going to the mans house a woman with an issue of blood presses through the crowd and is made whole. Jesus raises the daughter from the dead. Then Jesus goes to his hometown where he cannot do many miracles because of their unbelief. Then calls the twelve, sends them out to cast out demons and heals the sick. Mark then tells the story of the death of John the Baptist. The 12 return and tell Jesus about all they had been doing.
Are you tired? From what they have been doing. Do you look at those stories and think, I need a break. I need a vacation, I need to eat….
