The heart of serving

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.

Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Philippians 2:3-4

Nursery

  • In the NHBC Nursery, our purpose is to provide a safe, clean, peaceful, and loving environment where our church’s children can experience the love of the Lord and learn about the Gospel at their level. We take seriously our privilege and responsibility to create an atmosphere that facilitates joy and growth.
When children are placed in our care, we aim to reassure caregivers that their child will be known, cared for, and prayed for.

Hospitality

  • Don’t get us wrong…showing hospitality is so much more than just supplying donuts and coffee. Do you know where the word “hospitality” comes from? It originates from a Latin word meaning friendliness to guests. That is what we want every person to experience as they come up to our doors…to feel welcomed, seen and loved. You never know what a simple smile, handshake and “Hey! So glad you came!” can do for a soul.

  • Things our hospitality team does:

    • greet those who walk in with a smile and a warm welcome

    • fellowship with all who gather in the entry/foyer

    • help with refreshments as needed

For more info, please fill out the form at the bottom of this web page and someone will contact you soon.

Media/Audio/Visual

  • Our tech team is a vital part of the NHBC ministry. Each week they make sure those who want to hear the Word are able to clearly, whether they are in the congregation or watching from home. The services they provide allow the Gospel to reach more people and we are so thankful for that!

  • Different roles within this team:

    • sound technician

    • camera operator

    • overhead slide manager

    • online streaming

For more info, please fill out the form at the bottom of this web page and someone will contact you soon.

Bits & Pieces

  • Bits & Pieces gives people the opportunity to use their sewing talents for ministry and to bless others. They meet each Tuesday at 10am to work on projects like:

    • over-the-shoulder bags for missionaries to use on their scooters/bicycles

    • blankets for missions & the homeless

    • small items for fundraisers

    • and more!

  • For more info, please fill out the form at the bottom of this web page and someone will contact you soon.

Downtown

  • Each Sunday afternoon at 4pm, NHBC and other churches in our area serve the homeless. This is a wonderful way to not only have our eyes opened to those who are experiencing homelessness in our town, but to show them the love of Jesus by feeding their bodies with food and their souls with the Gospel.

  • Ways to help:

    • preparing food (each church involved rotates this responsibility)

    • serve food

    • engage in conversations with the homeless

Thursday nights, 7PM @ First Baptist Church LaFollette (255 W. Central Avenue)
