In chapter 9 we read where Mephibosheth twice said I am your servant, we also read where it said he was lame on both his feet. We also read where Mephibosheth said he was a dead dog. He receives kindness from the king with humility, I do not deserve it, matter a fact I will be a burden to you. Ziba, Sauls servant also responded with humility saying he would do all the king said for him to do.

Chapter 9 is like the wise king accepting the kindness of God in Psalm 2:11-12.

Chapter 10 starts with David again wanting to show the kindness of God, how will they respond.
