4/6/25 - Fasting

Last week we looked at the crowds and those who followed. Everyone who becomes a follower of Jesus begins in the crowds. Those who follow Jesus are called by Him to follow. They give the blessings they receive from Jesus to others. Such as peace, grace, mercy and forgiveness. They go where he commands and do what he commands. Jesus is Lord and we are unworthy servants doing our duty. The first called disciples got to live this out by eating at Matthews house with all his friends. They received opposition for being somewhere that religious people should have been. Not only do we extend what we have received, not only do we follow Him wherever he goes, and we will face opposition and persecution.

Today we look at a day of the week when the religious are fasting, but Jesus and his disciples are not fasting. I hope to answer these questions you may have about fasting. What is it? When should I do it? Why should I do it? Why should I not fast?
