8/16/26 - 1 Samuel 27-28
The past two weeks we looked at the three-test David faced in the wilderness. Two of them were David’s opportunity to kill Saul and end the years of running. But he did not disobey the Lord by taking matters into his own hand and touching God’s anointed. The test in between them was taking vengeance on Nebal who chose not to help him after David had protected his sheep and shepherds. God saved David from working salvation by his own hands by sending Abigail to him. There was only one response, worship. When God saves us from sin, causes us to be obedient there is only one response, worship.
Today we see David and Saul both struggling in their hearts. David to continue to believe God, Saul in great fear. The condition of their hearts leads both of them to sin.
